DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN -

A man suspected of raping a 24-year-old woman while she was asleep in her Bushwick apartment has surrendered to authorities.

Police say Jason Lasry, 38, entered the apartment near Halsey Street and Central Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Saturday and sexually assaulted the woman.

The victim was eventually able to push the suspect off of her, and he ran out of the apartment. She was taken to Woodhull Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Lasry turned himself in Wednesday night. He is charged with rape.

Sources tell News 12 that Lasry has a history of prior arrests, but mostly for minor offenses like marijuana possession.
