Study: Most baby food products test positive for arsenic
A new study found most baby food products test positive for arsenic, among other contaminates.
The Clean Label Project tested baby food, formulas, toddler drinks and snacks.
Out of the 530 baby food products that were tested, 65 percent of products tested positive for arsenic, 36 percent for lead, 58 percent for cadmium and 10 percent for acrylamide. All pose potential dangers to developing infants.
The worst offenders included Gerber, Enfamil, Plum Organics and Sprout.
Clean Label Project is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that aims to educate people in order for them to make informed choices on cleaner options while shopping.
