A Brooklyn artist returned to Cobble Hill this year to continue her tradition of impaling pumpkins in the spirit of Halloween.

Jane Greengold gathers every year with friends and family to impale pumpkins atop a fence on Kane Street. She started the tradition in 1998, but did not do it the last three years because she moved to Fort Greene.

The idea began when Greengold saw a tall and pointy fence. With the help of a homeowner, her idea became a reality.

But it seemed that the community missed the pumpkins, and they're now back.

"I think they love the neighborhood tradition of it now and now people like the idea that they can contribute their own," Greengold said.

More than 100 pumpkins were expected to be lit up on the fence by the end of the night.
