New pop-up shop allows artists to showcase work

A new pop-up shop in East New York is allowing artists and vendors to showcase their work while also highlighting the need for affordable space.
The three-month art gallery and performance space is called HouseFire and located near New Lots Avenue.
Organizers say the shop is meant to develop artists as individuals and allow them to make some money. They say the space showcases unique artworks, such as a pair of no-shade glasses with detailed African fabric.
Coordinators say the space also brings the community together.
