Volunteers from Home Depot are helping to fix up the home of Canarsie veteran Arlette Belgrave.
The volunteers are painting and installing new appliances as part of a program from Home Depot called Celebration of Service.
The program helps thousands of veterans around the country rebuild their homes each year.
"The mere fact that so many people are in my house making repairs for someone that they have never met is unbelievable," said Belgrave.
Belgrave was in the Army for 33 years and served in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Kosovo.
