Survey asks how to expand activities at Brooklyn Bridge Park

Posted: Updated:
BROOKLYN -

A new survey offers some recommendations for new activities at Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Sailing, more swimming, kayaking, cruises, a jitney and summer camp are some of the activities people requested when surveyed by the Waterfront Alliance. The survey was part of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Maritime Activation Plan.

The Waterfront Alliance says it interviewed park managers, teachers and those in charge of cultural and environmental programs at the Park.

Some said they would like to see the park expand beyond docking for vessels with educational and environmental programs for the public.

Other recommendations include having a Tall Ships Festival in Brooklyn.
