Colin Kaepernick named one of GQ magazine's citizens of the year

Colin Kaepernick has been named one of GQ magazine's citizens of the year, even though he has yet to play a single NFL game this season.
Kaepernick began a movement last year when he knelt during the national anthem as a way of peacefully protesting injustice toward minorities in the U.S.
His protest made waves and inspired other players to do the same before games, but he was also met with backlash by some, including President Donald Trump, who has condemned the players who kneel.
Kaepernick tweeted he's honored to be recognized by GQ.
