Bus driver shot during alleged robbery in Paterson

A bus driver was shot Wednesday night during an alleged robbery in Paterson, authorities said.
Police said the shooting was reported just after 9 p.m. on Main Street and Broadway.
A witness told News 12 New Jersey that the shooting occurred as the last passenger was exiting the bus and then tried to rob the driver. No one else was on the bus at the time.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office confirmed the shooting took place during an alleged robbery. The office said the 43-year-old victim from Clifton was operating a small private bus at the time of the incident.
According to police sources, the driver was shot in the stomach. He was taken to a hospital in serious condition. There was no update on his condition Thursday morning.
