Massapequa Turkey Trot organizers apologize after Facebook post backlash

Organizers behind the Massapequa Turkey Trot apologized after a Facebook post on their page caused outrage.
The Facebook post included last-minute race instructions that included "better runners move to the front" and described them as "often skinny."
The post went on to say to move to the back if runners purchased their sneakers at Kohl's and ate a bagel before the race.
Users quickly called out the group, saying the post was unprofessional.
Organizers apologized and said that the volunteer who wrote the post has lost access to the page.
The Massapequa Turkey Trot has raised money to fight leukemia and lymphoma since 2010.
