Brownsville school serves up hot Thanksgiving meals

One Brownsville school is giving back this Thanksgiving by fixing a hot meal and serving those who need it.

This is the first year the Brownsville Collaborative Middle School opened its doors and served the community.

Students and their families were also invited to the event. They gave out flyers on the street to people in the community and to local shelters to let everyone know about the meal.

The school's assistant principal says they wanted to teach students that it so much better to give than receive.
