A hair stylist from Cobble Hill organized a group of his colleagues from New York City and Los Angeles, California, to head to Puerto Rico to offer their services to victims affected by Hurricane Maria.
The group, organized by Alex Budai, is leaving Saturday afternoon and will cut hair on Sunday in a church shelter. On Monday, they plan to head to a school to cut children's hair.
JetBlue provided the group with free round-trip tickets. Each hair stylist is going to bring two checked bags full of supplies.
The group has a GoFundMe page to raise money to purchase supplies to bring with them. So far, they have raised more than $2,200.
The group also plans on bringing food and other items.
