Community members came together to mourn a 14-year-old Guatemalan boy who was killed while riding his bicycle in Sunset Park over the weekend.
A southbound BMW slammed into Edwin Ajacalon at East 23rd Street and Fifth Avenue, police say.
He was rushed to Methodist Hospital and pronounced dead.
Most of his family remains in Guatemala, according to community members.
"It's a shame, and that's why the whole community got together today to do this viewing for the family that couldn't be here," says Norma Pacheco, of Sunset Park.
The driver remained at the scene. No arrests have been made.
