Brooklyn Museum photo exhibit explores Muslim holy site

BROOKLYN -

A new photo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum features a view of a sacred Muslim holy site.

Ahmed Mater documented his journey to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, the holiest Muslim city on the planet.

Mecca is believed to be the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad and the faith of Islam.

The exhibit includes photographs documenting the 'unprecedented new construction unfolding in Mecca.

It will be open to the public from Dec. 1 through April 8.
