Foster children receive gifts, inspiration at Christmas brunch

Posted: Updated:
BROOKLYN -

Foster children got a special treat just weeks before Christmas.

The second annual Our Home for the Holidays was held at the Tillary Hotel Sunday.

The Christmas brunch helped foster children meet with people they admire.

Actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish, who spent time in foster care, brought suitcases for children.

"Instead of being moved around like trash, you have a suitcase," Haddish says. "Now you are traveling, now you are on an adventure and you have a purpose and you have some validity."

Children at the event also received other gifts.

The event was organized by Foster Care Unplugged.
