Harding/Kerrigan museum renovated ahead of ‘I, Tonya’ movie

CROWN HEIGHTS -

The Tonya Harding Nancy Kerrigan 1994 Museum in Crown Heights pays homage to two Olympic figure skaters caught up in spiraling controversy when Harding's ex-husband hired a man to attack Kerrigan in a bid to keep her out of the Winter Games of that year.

As News 12 reported last year, Viviana Olen and Matt Harkens teamed up to form the museum, which they call THNK 1994.

With help from Kickstarter fundraising, they just finished a renovation ahead of a movie based on the skaters, "I, Tonya," which came out last week.

Their Atlantic Avenue museum includes autographed memorabilia and front-page newspaper clippings.

"This encapsulates kind of the beginning of this story, where they're starting to put them in their kind of cat fight roles."
