The pews were packed with Mexican Catholics Tuesday at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The celebration focuses on the appearance of the Virgin Mary to Juan Diego in 1531, according to Catholic tradition.
The feast features a special Mass in Spanish and is followed by the lighting of 43 torches, which are then carried on foot to various other parishes in Brooklyn and Queens.
After reaching all of the parishes, another Mass is held later in the evening.
