5 years since Sandy Hook Elementary massacre

Thursday marks the five-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting in Connecticut.
Twenty children and six educators were killed in the massacre.
Victims ranged in age from six to 56 years old.
The shooter, Adam Lanza, also killed his mother before taking his own life at the scene as police arrived.
The original school was knocked down and a permanent memorial is in the works.
The massacre sparked a national gun debate for tougher background checks and restrictions on assault rifles.
