A Monmouth County Scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America is facing charges after he allegedly exchanged multiple sexually explicit messages with a young boy.
Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni says that 25-year-old Joseph Palermo, of Middletown, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Palermo was released Friday after his detention hearing in the Monmouth County court. As a condition of his release he is not allowed to contact the boy and any contact with a person under the age of 18 must be supervised.
