For some New Yorkers, going to the movies on Christmas is a tradition.
Some flocked to Brooklyn's Alamo Drafthouse Cinema theater Monday as part of an annual tradition or to escape from some holiday pressures.
"The benefit of coming to the movies on Christmas is that you get to avoid seeing family and instead sit in a theater, watch “Star Wars” and eat warm cookies and drink beer," one woman said.
For those who don't like cooking for the holidays, the cinema served hot meals at viewer’s seats while they watched a movie.
