Some residents headed out to Chinese restaurants on Christmas Day.

At the Chance Chinese restaurant in Cobble Hill, the manager says she is surprised every year by the crowd.

She says people know that the Smith Street restaurant will be open on Christmas Day, so going there has become a tradition for many families and those visiting from out of town.

She says the menu is pretty much the same on Christmas, but they do play holiday songs.
