The MTA is accepting proposals to build over a four-acre stretch of Brooklyn rail in Sunset Park and Borough Park.
The agency is calling for private developers to apply for the job, hoping to add additional housing and retail space to the neighborhoods.
The project will border numerous south Brooklyn neighborhoods and will be similar to Hudson Yards in Manhattan. It will take up the space along 61st Street between Eighth Avenue and Fort Hamilton Avenue.
No cost estimates have been released for the stretch of railroad yet, but interested applicants have until April 27 to submit a proposal.
