A Brooklyn indie record label is one of the first in the city to be owned and run by a woman.
Anastasia Wright started running IMG records in 2014 after working at major label RCA records.
She says making the move to run her own business was daunting but worth it.
Wright's clients say being represented by a woman makes being in the music industry more bearable.
"I think living in New York sometimes as an artist can be extremely discouraging especially if you're dealing with mental health issues. Sometimes I wake up and I don't feel OK, I don't feel my best, and Wright reminds me that I always can be. So it's amazing to work with her because of that," artist Tangina Stone says.
Stone credits her manager for getting her new album to store shelves.
