A popular podcaster who's show revolves around interviewing complete strangers off of the street has moved his show to Brooklyn.
Uluç Ülgen says he started the podcast 'Mürmur' three years ago in an effort to overcome exclusion and to learn English since moving to the U.S.
"There were days when I was so lonely in the city when I desperately needed a friend or just someone to talk with so the whole point of Murmur is to just allow everyone to just show up to my apartment and have a free form conversation," he says.
He began inviting complete strangers off of the street inside his apartment where he would then broadcast their conversations live.
The show became a success, but once Ülgen's landlord found out he was inviting strangers into his apartment to record conversations, he threatened eviction.
Ülgen moved his show to Brooklyn and now hosts the uniquely popular podcast out of a space in Bushwick every Wednesday.
He says the show is a unique experience that has helped him make lifelong friends.
