DOT suspends alternate side parking rules until Wednesday

Brooklyn residents who have not cleared their cars following Thursday's snowstorm are getting a much-needed reprieve.
The Department of Transportation announced that alternate side parking rules have been suspended until Wednesday.
A number of cars were still left buried in the snow Friday night.
Those who attempted to clear the snow say the frigid weather and blustering conditions didn't make things easy.
Heavy wind gusts even forced some street lights to waver in the air in some parts of the borough.
Officials are telling residents to check on any elderly neighbors to make sure they are OK.
