Brooklyn artists' 'Elegies' featured in Bronx Museum of the Arts

Angel Otero's artwork is hard to miss.
His large-scaled exhibition entitled "Elegies" is being featured at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. The Brooklyn-native says he's excited to show his latest work in the Bronx.
"The fact museum is in the Bronx with such a relationship with the Puerto Rican community, where I'm from, makes it more special," says Otero.
Many of the oil-based fabrics he has created were crafted and completed on the floor of his Brooklyn art studio.
There are six large-scaled pieces in the exhibition which Otero says celebrates notable artworks and artists from the past.
"My work is material base and it speaks a lot about memory, but I'm not sending a message. It's more personal," Otero says.
The "Elegies" exhibit is running until April 29.
