Some young people from Brooklyn spent their Saturday learning how to find their purpose in life with the help of a Canarsie nonprofit organization.

Alpha Leadership Academy, Inc. hosted a youth summit called "Identifying Your Purpose."

At least two dozen children attended the summit at Restoration Plaza to learn about overcoming obstacles, managing finances and the need to adopt positive relationships.

This was the first year of the summit, but staff wants to make it an annual event.
