Screenwriting competition aims to highlight women's work in film, TV

A new contest aims to highlight women's work in the film and television industry, and to even the playing field in their representation.
The citywide screenwriting competition Greenlight Her! - searching for stories by, for or about women - got hundreds of submissions.
The mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment teamed up with Brooklyn College's Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema to develop two outstanding pilots shot in New York City: "Maturity" and "Half Life." Both have a shot at becoming a four-episode series.
Voting is open through Jan. 27. The winner will be announced in mid-February.
