Element Quest in Sheepshead Bay offers unique escape room experience

SHEEPSHEAD BAY -

People across Brooklyn are paying to be trapped in scary rooms with only 60 minutes to get out.

Participants at Element Quest Escape Room in Sheepshead Bay are armed with handcuffs and walkie-talkies and are challenged to solve puzzles to get out of the room before time is up.

"A lot of it is solving puzzles, but I think the element that really gets people is that there's a scary side to it, so it really adds to how quickly they can solve the puzzles," says founder and owner Bryan Sardinha.

The escape room is $30 per person.

The owners say they are developing another one with a different theme set, which is set to open in about a month.
