Police identify Bronx woman found dead in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN -

Police have identified a Bronx woman whose body was found in a quiet Brooklyn neighborhood, officials say.

Taina Lacend, 23, of the Bronx, was found dead Thursday lying on the street with her pants pulled down and her shirt up, according to officials.

Police say neighbors discovered the body and that there were no obvious sign of trauma, although witnesses say there was blood around Lacend's face.

Neighbors tell News 12 the neighborhood is very quiet and that it's unusual for something like this to happen.

Police sources say Lacend's death may be related to a drug overdose.

However, that has not been verified.

A medical examiner will determine her exact cause of death.
