Alleged school bus bandits arrested with help from community

Neighbors say vandals who were allegedly taking a parked school bus for joy rides in Borough Park were caught by police Saturday night with the help of the neighborhood watch.
Community members say buses are often parked on 21st Avenue and that the keys of the bus in question are often left in the ignition.
Surveillance video shows the bus driving and clipping a van Tuesday night. Neighbors say the joy riding has occurred several nights through Saturday.
Another surveillance video from Saturday night shows a crowd of people chasing the bus down, blocking them from turning and luring them down a one-way street on 58th Avenue where residents say the vandals were arrested by police.
Several cars were clipped and side-swiped during the incidents.
The Shomrim Community Watch group also stepped in to action and assisted police with finding the suspects.
