Valentine's Day-themed fundraiser helps support Hurricane Maria victims

BROOKLYN -

One Brooklyn businesswoman is celebrating Valentine's Day this year by giving.

Maria Campanella, better known as "Maria the Ice Cream Girl," organized a fundraiser for Hurricane Maria in just a matter of days.

The Bensonhurst event is Campanella's second fundraiser for those suffering in Puerto Rico. In October, she had another nearby fundraiser that raised nearly $1,000 for victims.

Campanella says she organized the fundraiser - offering cakes, cookies, ice cream and more - to remind residents that Puerto Ricans still need help.

She says she wants people to realize they can feel love in their heart by giving.
