Residents are trying to save a Crown Heights hardware store that's been in business for more than two decades from closure.
Mohammed Kamara, owner of American Star Hardware, says now that the building is now up for sale, he may be pushed out.
The Liberian-born 62-year-old says it was his dream to own his own business, and he's even trying to buy the building to guarantee that he keeps his shop.
Customers say Kamara is a fixture in the community and that they can't imagine him being gone.
After investors helped him raise the majority of the money, community members started a GoFundMe campaign that's brought in almost $6,000 to help as of Thursday night.
