Family members are mourning a man who was fatally shot last week just steps away from his Crown Heights home.
Police say 26-year-old Thierno Omar Barry was found on Montgomery Street with gunshot wounds to the face and stomach early Friday morning. No arrests have been made.
On Monday, loved ones carried Barry inside a Crown Heights mosque to perform a religious prayer for the deceased. He would then be transported to his native Guinea for further prayers from family there.
Barry leaves behind a wife and 4-year-old daughter in Guinea. His family says he worked long hours to bring them to the United States. They say he was likely on his late shift as a Lyft driver when he was shot.
