A mother says the abduction of her 4-year-old son was prevented after she caught a woman inside her Crown Heights home around 6 p.m. Thursday.
Leblessings Snipes says a woman, who was not wearing any clothes during the time of the incident, tried to take her son out of his bedroom window.
Snipes’ daughter says she was in the bathroom and heard a woman’s voice praying loudly. She then looked out the window and yelled for her mother once she saw a woman going into the bedroom she shares with her brother.
Snapes was able to get her son away from the woman inside the home.
"She had a white candle, a yellow candle and a red candle, sitting on my window still and she said that she was here to protect my son from whatever was coming after him,” said Snipes.
A source familiar with the incident says it appears that the woman gained access to the roof from the building next door, and then climbed down the fire escape.
A spokesperson said a case worker has reached out to the Snipes family to express their concerns for their well-being and to ensure that they have all the support they need at this difficult time.
