A man is accused of attempting to rape a woman after following her inside of her Brooklyn apartment, police say.

The incident happened on Feb. 17, inside a residential building near 17th Avenue and Bay Ridge Parkway around 1:20 p.m.

Police released surveillance video of the suspect entering the lobby of the building after he allegedly followed a 59-year-old woman inside.

The man followed the woman to her door and pushed his way inside where he exposed himself to her, police say.

Police say the suspect forced his way onto the woman and threw her onto a couch where he attempted to rape her.

The woman fought back, but the suspect slapped her in the face repeatedly, police say.

The man eventually ran out of the apartment.
