A Bellport teen is back home after spending seven months behind bars and accused of being a gang member.
The 17-year-old, whose identity is being protected, says he was wrongly accused of being a member of the MS-13 gang.
Last April, the teen was suspended from Bellport High School after allegedly flashing a gang sign in a hallway.
The teen was then arrested during a federal crackdown known as “Operation Matador.”
The New York Civil Liberties Union filed the lawsuit on his behalf.
The teen was released from a federal detention center after the suit was filed last week.
