The nor'easter began impacting the region early Friday with strong winds, heavy rain and flooding in Brooklyn.
Some drivers on the Belt Parkway appeared unfazed by the storm, however News 12 meteorologists say it is only expected to intensify by afternoon before turning over to snow.
The storm is expected to create flooding along the coastal areas of the region due to heavy periods of rain during the day.
At least 2-3 inches of rain are expected.
A high wind warning, flood watch, coastal flood advisory, and coastal flood watch are all in effect.
The storm is expected to turn over to snow between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. leaving 1-2 inches of accumulation in the area.
The snow is not expected to stick to the ground and may create more of a slushy condition, according to News 12 meteorologists.
