An 11-year-old Brooklyn girl has a flair for journalism and is already looking forward to her future career.
Amelia Poor is one of 44 members of the award-winning Scholastic News Kids Press Corp.
All members are between the ages of 10 and 14 years old.
She recently interviewed participants at the annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
"I think it's really fun to be able to hold that microphone and interview people. I love interviewing people because it's really interesting to find out what their opinion on an issue is or why they are at a certain event," Poor says.
She says she has sent out a request to interview Kehinde Wiley, the man who worked on former President Barak Obama's presidential portrait.
The 11-year-old is already thinking about which journalism schools she would like to go to for her future career.
"I would love to go to school in DC where I can get an internship with the Politician or at a news station," she says.
