73-year-old man fatally struck by truck in Bensonhurst

BENSONHURST -

A 73-year-old man was killed after being struck by a pickup truck in Brooklyn Friday.

The incident happened at 65th Street and W. 6th Street around 5:50 a.m., police say.

The 73-year-old man trying to cross the street when he was struck by a gray-colored pickup.

The driver of the truck stopped and has been coopering with police, according to officials.

Investigators have shut down the road as they continue to investigate.

Officials say there appears to be no criminality at this time.  

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials did not say if weather played a factor in the incident.

The man has not been identified.
