Stars of the audio world are converging at the Wythe Hotel for the second annual On-Air Fest.
Organizers tell News 12 that the event brings together people from the podcast and radio communities to explore creativity and sound. There are also art installations and vendors displaying the latest audio technology.
"What’s so exciting in New York is that I think you're seeing a lot of creative people consider audio as like a platform to do their art, so whether it’s storytelling or journalism or music or sound design,” said Scott Newman, founder of the festival.
Dylan Marron, host of the podcast "Conversations with People who Hate Me," tells News 12 it is nice to be around fellow creators.
“Digital creation can be a lonely experience so to be in community with a lot of people who do is really nice,” he said.
U.S. podcast listeners are up nearly 40 percent in the past couple of years, according to Nielsen.
The On-Air Fest is at the Wythe Hotel till March 4.
