Disabled veteran reunited with missing dog

BROOKLYN -

A disabled veteran and his beloved dog were reunited Saturday.

Daniel Ioannou’s dog, Chewy, went missing after he dropped him off at VERG South emergency veterinarian service on Flatbush Avenue to treat a digestive problem.

The animal hospital apparently lost Chewy while walking him two days ago.

“They called me about an hour later saying, ‘We got great news, the enema went well, but we lost your dog,’” says Ioannou.

A good Samaritan found Chewy Saturday morning.

Chewy is doing fine and is now home resting.

VERG told News 12, "As a result of this incident we are currently revising our procedures and have made immediate changes to make sure that something like this never happens again."
