Work by the internationally known graffiti artist Banksy has recently been spotted in Manhattan, and now residents say it appears he might have brought his artwork to the Midwood community.
Banksy, a England-based artist, has been credited with two pieces that popped up at a former Mobil gas station that is now up for development.
The pieces are located at the corner of Coney Island Avenue and Avenue I.
The mysterious artist is known for his distinctive style of stenciling, and his pieces usually have some kind of political message.
“I think he's a world famous artist and I like street art and the things he does, it's always spectacular,” said Jeffrey Gnehm of Prospect Park South.
Banksy has not claimed the Brooklyn works yet. He typically posts all of his pieces
on Instagram.
