BENSONHURST -

Police are searching for three suspects who burglarized the home of a 79-year-old woman in Bensonhurst.

The incident occurred on Jan. 12 just after 4 p.m.

Authorities say the three suspects pressed several doorbells of residents at a building near 19th Avenue and 82nd Street until someone eventually buzzed them in.

Police say one of the suspects was posing as a utility worker and gained access to the woman’s apartment. After distracting the woman with paperwork, they were able to take $82 from her apartment.

The suspects are believed to be between the ages of 16 and 25 years old.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
