Coney Island’s Luna Park opened for the season Saturday, just days after the latest snowstorm.
Organizers say the turnout was about triple than what they expected thanks to the day’s clear skies and moderate temperatures.
As part of the opening celebration, tickets were sold at a discount of just $5 compared to the usual price of close to $70.
Organizers say all the funds raised are going to The Mayor’s Fund to Advance NYC, a charity that supports business, philanthropy and public programming.
The fun is set to continue into Sunday when Borough President Eric leads the annual egg cream christening of the Cyclone roller coaster.
