Coney Island celebrated its opening day Sunday.
Local officials attended the festivities, which included the traditional blessing of the rides and an egg cream christening of the Cyclone.
Borough President Eric Adams cut the ribbon to launch the 2018 season.
"This is the land of the polar bears, the weather doesn't stop the Coney Islanders to come out enjoying not only rides, the beach, the famous Nathan's hotdogs," Adams said.
Coney Island is open every weekend until Memorial Day. After that, the park will be open seven days a week throughout the summer.
