NEW YORK -

Goya has donated 100,000 pounds of food to the New York City food bank to be distributed to families in need, officials say.

The food was delivered to the food bank at a location in Hunts Point Monday.

Goya Foods spokeswoman Natalie Maniscalco says it's a small fraction of the 1.5 million pounds of food donated as a part of the company's "Can Do" campaign.

The campaign pledges to donate food to food banks across the country in an effort to feed families who are less fortunate.

Goya will continue to donate food across the country through June 2018.
