Thousands of Brooklyn faithful marched through the streets of Bensonhurst in observance of Good Friday.
The procession went through the streets between St. Dominic and St. Athanasius churches, marking the official end of Lent. Plenty of people held crosses and statues symbolizing the moment when Jesus carried the cross.
The march was led by Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio, who's the head of the Brooklyn Archdiocese. He was joined by other local clergy members.
DiMarzio says Good Friday is a day for selflessness as Christians remember Jesus. He also says he's thankful for the police officers who watched over the event.
Prayers were delivered in Italian and English where the procession ended, on 61st Street.
