Springtime snow showers move across region
Springtime snow showers swept across Brooklyn Monday, breaking a 15-year snow total record, according to News 12 meteorologists.
The fast-moving snow made for a slippery morning commute.
The snow mixed with some sleet and rain at times, but remained wet and heavy.
According to the National Weather Service, about 4.8 inches of snow fell in some areas of the city.
Conditions cleared up around 11 a.m., and the day will see highs in the upper 40s.
More clouds and rain showers are expected for Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs topping out in the 50s.
Monday's snowfall breaks a 15-year record when in 2003, 4 inches of snow fell in New York City.
