An adult amateur football team is getting ready to start a new season, and it offers more than just action on the field.
The New York Crusaders spoke with News 12 Saturday at the team’s media day for a preview on what’s new in 2018.
The Crusaders football team is a nonprofit organization that provides life opportunities to young people in the city.
The team also puts together job fairs, and job placement programs to help young men in the community. Last year the team helped three players get scholarships to college.
Men ages 18 and older play on the team and compete in the tri-borough football league.
The team’s first game is April 7 at the Boys and Girls High School.
