Police: Man punched woman in face, stole cellphone

EAST NEW YORK -

A woman was punched in the face inside a Brooklyn restaurant after a man stole her cellphone, police say.

The incident happened on March 24, inside of a restaurant at 2228 Linden Blvd. around 4:30 a.m.

Police say the man stole the woman's cellphone and when she tried to get it back he punched her in the face and head repeatedly.

The woman suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.

The restaurant has provided police with surveillance video of the suspect.

The cellphone is valued at around $700, police say.
